Takisada-Nagoya / Men’s Fabric Division Expansion of Women’s Fabric Sales
Takisada-Nagoya / Men’s Fabric Division
Expansion of Women’s Fabric Sales
Textile News: Updated Wednesday, December 3, 2025
The Men’s Fabric Division of Takisada-Nagoya is increasing its sales of women’s fabrics.
Excluding products for suburban retailers, the proportion of women’s fabrics for the current term (ending January 2026)
is expected to rise to 8–10%, reflecting steady growth from approximately 4% at the initial launch.
The division intends to continue this expansion while further strengthening fabric development and proposals.
Amid the continuing contraction of the men’s suit market, the Men’s Fabric Division has positioned women’s fabrics as a new growth field,
focusing on department store apparel brands and select shops.
The division has also continuously hosted women’s exhibitions since the Spring/Summer 2023 season,
and recently held its 8th exhibition for the Autumn/Winter 2026 season at the Aoyama Office in Shibuya, Tokyo.
Growth has been driven by increased market recognition through exhibitions,
product development tailored to the women’s segment, and the expansion of female sales representatives.
Excluding suburban retail channels, sales for the current term are projected at approximately ¥1.3 billion.
The division aims to reach ¥2.0 billion within the next two years and ultimately targets ¥3.0 billion.
For the Autumn/Winter 2026 season, proposals are presented under the theme “TRANSMUTE.”
A high-density 100% cotton gabardine using 60/2 gas-boiled yarns for both warp and weft offers
a refined, lint-free surface, a dry touch reminiscent of synthetic fibers, and wrinkle resistance.
A tweed-like polyester fabric utilizing yarns capable of expressing three-color mélange effects is another highlight.
“While it initially conveys the appearance of a classic men’s senior fabric, it delivers a fresh impression when adapted for women’s items.”
Sustainable considerations are also incorporated, including the use of recycled polyester yarns.
Additionally, a wide range of imported fabrics is featured.
Proposals include lightweight post-dyed washer fabrics from Limonta (Italy),
washable stretch fabrics from Carreman (France),
as well as fabrics developed by Bellandi in the Tuscany region of Italy.
