Changing the way we collect information and creating new partnerships

Changes are progressing rapidly due to the COVID-19 crisis, and issues that had been left unresolved have manifested as problems.
One major problem is that our ability to supply products, which had been one of our strengths, is not matching the market.
The number of additional orders has been decreasing noticeably.
However, there are still customers who want to place additional orders, and we need to respond to them well.
In order to achieve this, it is essential to work on the upstream aspects of our business.
In the area of digitalization, we are in the process of changing our core system by this spring, and we will catch up while building connections in upstream aspects, with customers, and within the company.
We want to improve efficiency by having sharing between our factories and locations in Japan and overseas.
We will continue to develop materials, starting with raw materials, and promote crowdfunding.
Up to now we have been working with information from stores, but we need to change the way we collect information. In the medium to long-term, cooperation based on self-reliance and autonomy will be an issue.
We have been focusing on sections and section managers, but we would like to build up global cooperation, which has been cut off due to COVID-19.
This is because without “depth and breadth,” in other words without having many employees with specialized expertise, we will not be able to meet the demands of customers and the market.
In the fiscal year ended January 2021, our fabric divisions struggled due to stopped business negotiations and other reasons.
However, some sections of our Products Division held their ground and exceeded last year’s results. Young employees worked hard at the product exhibitions, which led to the arrival of new customers.
Even if the COVID-19 crisis continues, we will continue to move products and vitalize the industry without weakening our efforts.
