Expanding New Applications for Wool in Sports & Outdoor Fields

Senken Shimbun: Updated Wednesday, November 19, 2025

For its Autumn/Winter 2026–27 men’s fabric collections, Takisada-Nagoya is strengthening proposals not only for its core suit segment,
but also for new applications, particularly wool materials aimed at sports and outdoor brands.

The lineup includes fabrics using nylon for the warp and wool for the weft.
These materials offer a synthetic-like touch while maintaining elegant drape and refined surface appearance,
along with wool-blend fabrics containing 30% wool designed for down item shell applications.
The company views wool utilization in this sector as a niche area with significant growth potential.

For suits and set-up styles, Takisada-Nagoya proposes natural-stretch 100% wool fabrics,
as well as China-produced alternatives to Italian textiles, including wool-cashmere worsted and 100% cashmere materials.

Additionally, the collection features wool-blend fabrics mass-produced in China by Carreman,
a French textile manufacturer widely adopted by women’s brands,
alongside 100% wool fabrics with impregnation finishing backed by the Bishu production region.

Beyond suits, proposals extend to wool-blend fabrics for shirts,
as well as coordinated fabric concepts applied to daypacks and cushions.
The range also includes fine-count woolen materials for lightweight coats and heavier-count worsted options.
