TOSTO, a Shoes OEM Company, Launches Snow Boot Brand “SPOKTS” Using Japanese Materials
Senken Shimbun: Updated Monday, December 1, 2025

TOSTO (Headquartered in Higashiura, Aichi Prefecture; President Yoshio Kiyota), a company engaged in shoes OEM
(original equipment manufacturing for client brands) including sneakers and sports shoes, has launched its own brand “SPOKTS.”
For the full-scale rollout targeting the Autumn/Winter 2026–27 season, the company plans to enhance its product lineup,
including the adoption of new Japanese-developed materials.

The company has long operated an OEM business centered on sports footwear,
manufacturing at its own factories in China and Okayama.
In addition, as a factory brand, TOSTO markets genuine leather shoes under the name “Swan Alberg,”
while also pursuing environmentally conscious product development,
including the use of biodegradable materials.

High Versatility with Accessible Pricing

SPOKTS is built around the concept of high versatility that combines functionality with basic design,
sustainability, a preference for Japanese materials, and an accessible price range.
Snow boots are positioned as a new core item within its winter footwear lineup,
with sales expansion actively promoted.

The company’s focus on snow boots stems from prior success selling Japanese-designed snow boots
made with domestic fabrics in Northern Europe through its Spanish subsidiary,
achieving cumulative sales exceeding 50,000 pairs over three years.
Furthermore, with the addition of experienced footwear development personnel formerly based in Tajimi, Gifu Prefecture,
TOSTO established the Tajimi Office as a planning and development hub.
This serves as the foundation for the brand’s story of promoting Japanese manufacturing excellence.

Highlighting Sustainability and Performance

Snow boots for the Autumn/Winter 2026–27 season feature waterproof polyester for the outer material,
fleece lining for comfort, and padding utilizing
Takisada-Nagoya’s recycled polyester-based heat-generating material “WarmdArt,” which produces warmth through solar energy.

The padding sheets are processed at TOSTO’s dedicated partner factory,
with final product manufacturing conducted at both its China and domestic facilities.
The China factory will also support overseas markets, including Europe.
The company emphasizes its integrated production approach — from material sourcing and design
to sewing and rubber processing — under the concepts of “Made in Japan” or “Made by Japan,”
alongside the adoption of environmentally conscious materials.

Retail prices are expected to be around ¥9,000.
At the exhibition planned for January–February 2026,
variations including short boots and slip-on styles will be introduced.
