- In 1864, Sadasuke Taki Senior left
his hometown, Higashinomura Village
(Niwa District, Owari Province), and moved to
the town of Higashiman-cho in Nagoya.
He inherited a silk shop “Kinuya Sadasuke” and
worked as a kimono and fabric wholesaler.

Takisada Shoten Company
- Beginning of
Meiji Period - Sadasuke Taki managed his assets through three business sectors: kimono wholesale business, financial service business, and real estate investment.
- 1875-76
- Sold Kyoto-style kimonos, Kanto-style kimonos, and locally produced fabrics.
- 1882
- Co-founded the Nagoya Bank (one of the predecessors of what is now MUFG Bank) with Hyoemon Taki and others.
Sadasuke Taki appointed as President.
- 1887
- Established Owari Textile Company (one of the predecessors of Toyobo Co., Ltd.) together with Hyoemon Taki and established Owari Spinning Company together with Hyoemon Taki and others, with Masaka Okuda serving as the chief promoter.
- 1888
- Opened Kyoto Branch in Koiyamacho, Rokkaku-sagaru, Muromachi-dori.
- 1889
- Established the Kinusadashoku Textile Factory in Nishishincho, Nagoya, as the company’s manufacturing division.
- 1891
- Sadasuke was elected as a board member at the first board member election for the Nagoya Chamber of Commerce (7 out of its 35 members worked in the textile industry).
- 1893
- Relocated the Kinusadashoku Textile Factory and established Nagoya Weaving Limited Partnership Company.
- 1896
- Established Teikoku Textiles Co., Ltd. together with Hyoemon Taki and Joemon Kasugai.
Established Sanryusha Limited Partnership Company (a yarn-making factory) together with Momozo Taguchi and Yasuhei Mogi.
Invested in Gifu Silk Fabrics Co., Ltd.

- Established the Takisada Banking Division Regulations and Takisada Trade Division Regulations at the first executive board meeting.
The Banking Division was later renamed Main Business Division.
The Trade Division later became part of Takisada Partnership Company.
- 1899
- Formed a kimono sales group (Gofuku Ichibangumi) with ten leading wholesale businesses in Nagoya.
- 1903
- The Taki family held a formal ceremony to promulgate the Family Charter. Sadasuke Taki (1st generation) passed away; Shotaro Taki succeeded him and assumed the name Sadasuke Taki (2nd generation).

- Sadasuke Taki (2nd generation) appointed President (Head of the Bank) of Nagoya Bank (served for 8 years, until January 1924).

- Trade Division established at the Nagoya headquarters.
- 1919
- Opened branches in Shanghai and Hong Kong. Wartime economic boom drove profits to four times the previous year’s level.

- Recorded significant losses following the post-war depression.
The kimono sales group (Gofuku Ichibangumi) was dissolved and the Nagoya Textile Alliance (Nagoya Orimono Domei-kai) was formed in its place.

- Sadasuke Taki (2nd generation) appointed Vice Chairman of the Nagoya Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Hong Kong Branch closed.
- 1924
- Orders skyrocketed in Chukyo and Kansai regions due to the Great Kanto Earthquake.
- 1932
- Implemented internal restructuring and workforce reductions. Nagoya Trade Department abolished.
Sadasuke Taki (2nd generation) passed away; Kenzo Taki succeeded him and assumed the name Sadasuke Taki (3rd generation).
- 1933
- Merged Takisada Shokusan Company into the firm.
Shanghai Branch closed.
- 1936
- Construction began on the new Nagoya Head Office building on Miyuki Honmachi-dori.
- 1937
- New Nagoya Head Office building completed and operations commenced.
All Head Office staff adopted Western-style attire.

- Opened representative offices in Dalian and Tianjin.
